Superleague Formula [Brands Hatch] - van der Drift

Superleague Formula frontrunner Chris van der Drift has escaped from his horrifying crash at Brands Hatch today, during which he hit the bridge before Pilgrims Drop, with a broken ankle, injured shoulder and hand.

Olympiacos racer van der Drift was battling with Roma's Julien Jousse over fifth place in the closing stages of the second race. He used his last push-to-pass on the exit of Surtees bend, and attempted to overtake Jousse on the right-hand side. As Jousse moved across at the kink, van der Drift's front-left wheel struck Jousse's right-rear, catapulting him into the air.

After striking the parapet of the bridge in mid-air, his car was launched into a dizzying series of spins, briefly catching fire, and came to rest in the middle of the track on its side. The wreckage was narrowly missed by following cars as it came to rest at the bottom of the dip in the circuit.

After being stabilised at the scene, where he was conscious and talking to medics, van der Drift has been taken to hospital in Dartford. It is understood he will undergo a surgical procedure on his injured hand this evening.

Jousse said of the incident: "I knew he was there, but he came so quickly. I was a bit slow, because I was on worn tyres, and I didn't want to protect my position from him. I stayed on the right and I thought he'd pass me on the left."

Hanno rotto i coglioni con questa moda di spostarsi per chiudere chi arriva. Si vede chiaramente che si sposta a destra come vede che van der Drift sta per infilarsi.
La fia se ne fotte altamente, e vedrete se prima o poi qualcuno ci lascerà le penne.

hai ragione niki!

cmq resto dell'idea che i piloni per sostenere gli sponsor (poi non so se li è un ponte di servizio) sono pericolosissimi...meglio un sottopasso e a quel paese lo sponsor...
ora diranno ancora una volta di + che brands è pericoloso dopo gli ultimi avvenimenti
A parte qui..che è stato chiuso in modo vigliacco, io penso invece che ormai i piloti si sentono invulnerabili e in piste vere da pelo non hanno + la misura del rischio..vedi suzuka l'anno scorso..i pilotini giovani arrivati li han fatto una marea di errori non essendoci vie di fuga asfaltate od enormi spazi di fuga
merzario a volte è troppo drastico, ma quando dice..mettete il cordolo alto, la sabbia, non ha tutti i torti...così almeno esiste un limite e non c'è + bisogno di ridare posizioni o altro..quando sei nella sabbia..sei nella sabbia.

Se poi si abolissero i push-to-pass perchè anche questo è una concausa di quanto accaduto ......

I soliti metodi idioti per favorire una manovra che se falsata dovrebbe eccitare solo i fessi  >:(

Vallo a dire al boss nano e agli sponsor che vogliono vedere i cartelloni semoventi in pista dal primo all'ultimo minuto.
